Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of piecelab.ca (the "Site") and your purchase of products from Piecelab ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to place an order.

2. Products

Piecelab produces handmade photo puzzles. Each order consists of a 4" × 6" photograph printed and hand-cut into 24 interlocking pieces, supplied in a fabric drawstring bag, together with a second identical printed photograph for reference.

Because our products are handmade, minor variations in cutting and finish are normal and are part of the product's character. They are not defects.

Product photographs on the Site are illustrative. Colours may appear differently depending on your screen.

3. Choking hazard and safety

⚠️ Not suitable for children under 3 years of age. This product contains small parts that present a choking hazard. Adult supervision is recommended for young children.

4. Photos you upload

Your rights and responsibilities

When you upload a photo to place an order, you confirm that:

• You own the photo, or you have permission from the copyright holder to reproduce it
• You have the consent of any identifiable person appearing in the photo
• The photo does not infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights
• The photo does not contain unlawful, sexually explicit, hateful, or violent content

You are solely responsible for the content you upload. You agree to indemnify Piecelab against any claim arising from a photo you provide.

The licence you grant us

You retain full ownership of your photo. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to reproduce, print, crop, and process your photo solely for the purpose of producing and delivering your order.

We do not use customer photos for marketing, social media, or any other purpose without your separate written permission.

Storage and deletion

We store uploaded photos only as long as needed to fulfil your order and handle any related claim, and delete them within [90] days of delivery. You may request earlier deletion at piecelabinfo@gmail.com

Our right to refuse

We may refuse or cancel any order, with a full refund, where we reasonably believe the uploaded content breaches these terms.

5. Orders and pricing

All prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes, which are calculated at checkout.

Placing an order is an offer to purchase. We accept your order when we send your confirmation email. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, including where a product has been listed at an incorrect price, in which case we will refund you in full.

6. Payment

Payment is processed by our third-party payment providers. We do not store your full payment card details. By providing payment information, you confirm you are authorized to use the payment method.

7. Shipping, returns and refunds

Our Shipping Policy and Return and Refund Policy form part of these Terms of Service.

8. Intellectual property

The Piecelab name, logo, website design, text, and product photography are our property and are protected by Canadian and international intellectual property law. You may not use them without our written permission.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Site to transmit malware, attempt unauthorized access, scrape or copy content for commercial purposes, or interfere with the operation of the Site.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of your purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable Canadian consumer protection legislation that cannot be excluded by contract.

11. Privacy

Our handling of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy and complies with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order. Changes take effect when posted to the Site.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of BRITISH COLUMBIA and the federal laws of Canada applicable in that province. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that province.
